Tech Yeet — Gaming Community
Applying product management principles to grow and engage a gaming community
Overview
Gaming communities thrive when they feel intentional — when members know what the group stands for, what to expect each week, and why it is worth coming back. Too many communities grow passively and stagnate because no one treats the member experience as a product worth designing. I saw TechYeet as an opportunity to change that by bringing the same rigor I apply to product management into community leadership.
Tech Yeet is a gaming community where I serve as community lead, and I have made it my mission to make the group more engaging, more consistent, and more worth joining. That means thinking about the community the way I would think about any product — understanding who the members are, what keeps them coming back, and where the experience falls short.
My Contribution
Brand identity and positioning — I created a cohesive brand for TechYeet, developing the visual identity, tone of voice, and positioning that give the community a distinct personality. A strong brand matters because it signals to prospective members what they are joining and gives current members something to rally around. The brand work turned TechYeet from a casual group into a recognizable presence.
Content cadence and editorial voice — I established a weekly publishing rhythm anchored by industry summaries and gaming blogs. The summaries distill the most relevant gaming and tech news into a digestible format, giving members a reason to check in regularly. The blogs go deeper, exploring trends, reviews, and community stories. Consistency here is the strategy — reliable, quality content builds the trust that keeps a community alive.
Community governance — I revamped the community rules and expectations, making them clearer, more enforceable, and more aligned with the culture I want TechYeet to embody. Good guidelines are not about restriction — they are about creating a space where members feel safe to engage, debate, and connect. The updated framework has made moderation more straightforward and set a higher bar for the quality of interaction.
Growth experimentation — I run ongoing experiments and discovery efforts to optimize engagement and foster membership growth. This includes testing new content formats, adjusting posting schedules, and exploring partnership opportunities — all measured against engagement and retention metrics. The product management lens ensures that every initiative ties back to a clear hypothesis about what will make the community better.
